Geography Īccording to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.01 square miles (2.62 km 2), all of it land. A post office called Camp Douglas has been in operation since 1873. The village was named after a logging camp established by James Douglas, which brought wood to steam locomotives.
